Description: Overview of theories and practical applications of Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning. A focus on trends, opportunities, and emerging uses, as well as best practices, limitations, and ethical implications. Hands-on practice with current tools to solve complex healthcare problems.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Describe the data analytics continuum and how it is being used to improve the healthcare field. (I)
2. Apply analytical tools to solve healthcare problems and improve patient outcomes. (I)
3. Apply critical thinking skills to research, interpret, and visualize data to ethically inform healthcare knowledge and practices. (I)
4. Describe artificial intelligence (AI) and how it is being used to improve the healthcare field. (II)
5. Utilize AI technologies to solve healthcare problems. (II)
6. Explain basic machine learning concepts and methods. (III)
7. Describe trends and opportunities for automation with machine learning to improve the healthcare field. (III)
8. Explain the limitations and ethical considerations in the use of data analytics, AI, and machine learning. (I-III)
