Description: Supplemental instruction for college-level discipline courses. Focus on developing effective reading processes to address a range of literacy needs including reading, writing, digital, numerical, financial and informational literacies.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Evaluate the elements of one`s reading practices for successful literacy application in a particular discipline.
2. Adapt one`s reading process to the demands of particular discipline literacy situations.
MCCCD Official Course Competencies must be coordinated with the content outline so that each major point in the outline serves one or more competencies. MCCCD faculty retains authority in determining the pedagogical approach, methodology, content sequencing, and assessment metrics for student work. Please see individual course syllabi for additional information, including specific course requirements.
