Description: History and development of American Sign Language (ASL) and English codes. Overview of education for Deaf and Hard of Hearing children. Legal rights and common adaptive devices used by Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals.

3. Identify types of signing systems used in education. (II)
4. Describe technology adapted to needs of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. (III)
5. Describe the legal rights of Deaf and Hard of Hearing persons. (IV)
6. Describe the qualification differences between Sign Language Interpreters and Signers. (V)
