Description: Basic principles of automotive electricity and electrical systems.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Demonstrate safe personal and workplace habits according to industry standards. (I)
2. Research appropriate service information pertaining to electrical systems. (II)
3. Effectively use digital volt ohm meter/digital multimeter (DVOM/DMM) to determine resistance, amperage and voltage. (III)
4. Describe the basic principles and fundamentals of electricity/electronics and electrical systems. (IV)
5. Use Ohm`s, Watt`s and Kirchhoff`s Laws to determine circuit characteristics and operation. (IV - VI)
6. Describe electrical/electronic components and their operation. (V)
7. Create and repair simple circuits. (IV - VII)
8. Demonstrate industry standard professionalism that includes dress, attendance and customer service. (I - VII)
9. Effectively communicate with diverse audiences. (I - VII)
