Description: Preparation for the Property and Casualty Insurance Producer licensing exam required by the State of Arizona Department of Insurance for licensure as a Property/Casualty Insurance Agent. Covers the basic principles and legal parameters of property and casualty insurance including homeowners, auto, and business policies. Designed for students with no prior experience in the insurance field as well as those seeking to expand their licensing authority with the State of Arizona.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Summarize the insurance producer licensing requirements of the State of Arizona. (I)
2. Explain general insurance fundamentals including the components of contracts and rules governing producers and agencies. (II)
3. Identify the basic elements of property and casualty insurance policies. (III)
4. Describe the basics of a dwelling policy including its purpose, coverages and exclusions. (IV)
5. Describe the basics of a homeowner`s policy including property and liability coverages, conditions and exclusions. (V)
6. Describe the basics and legal requirements of personal and commercial auto policies. (VI)
7. Describe the components of a commercial package policy including liability, property, crime and equipment. (VII)
8. Describe the components of the business owner`s policy including property and liability coverages. (VIII)
9. Describe an employer`s liability regarding injury in the workplace and legal requirements regarding workers compensation insurance. (IX)
10. Identify other coverages and options available to policyholders. (X)
11. Apply basic principles of property and liability insurance to practice exams and self-evaluate readiness for official licensure exam. (XI)
12. Employ various review and test taking strategies to optimize performance in timed exam. (XI)
