Description: Analysis and interpretation of technical drawings common to the metal fabrication and construction trades. Welding blueprint symbols.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Identify various drawing views and lines as they pertain to welding blueprints. (I)
2. Interpret dimension lines and dimension expressions as used on drawings. (II)
3. Describe specifications, notes and material identification symbols. (III)
4. Explain common weld joints and weld types. (IV)
5. Define applicable welding terms and their uses. (V)
6. Identify and locate basic welding symbols on shop drawings. (VI)
7. Analyze specific weld requirements as noted on the welding symbol. (VII)
8. Describe supplementary weld symbols and their location requirements on welding symbols. (VIII)
