Description: Theoretical and performance skills in many styles of jazz improvisation.

MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Apply basic elements of music through analysis and writing. (I) 2. Identify melodic tones of various chord qualities. (II) 3. Analyze and construct blues chord progressions and melodies. (III) 4. Analyze and construct pieces using a blues form. (III) 5. Demonstrate improvisation techniques. (IV) 6. Perform a given song from memory. (IV)
