Description: Demonstration of duct traversing and diffuser air flow measurement techniques. Water flow measurement techniques. Analysis of water side performance, hydronic balancing, and circuit setter adjustment. Chiller cooling tower and pump testing procedures. Heating, packaged units, split units, and heat pump testing procedures. Collection and analysis of air and water performance.

1. Demonstrate proper duct traversing and diffuser air flow measurement techniques. (I)
2. Demonstrate proper water flow measurement techniques. (II)
3. Analyze water-side system performance and demonstrate hydronic balancing and circuit setter adjustment. (III)
4. Set up and test specific types of variable volume terminal units. (III, IV)
5. Formulate and practice chiller, cooling tower and pump testing procedures. (IV)
6. Plan and demonstrate duct heater testing processes, with special emphasis on safety considerations. (IV)
7. Plan and demonstrate testing procedures for package units, split systems and air and water source heat pumps. (IV)
8. Collect, record and analyze air and water system component performance data. (V)
