Description: Techniques, strategies, and treatment modalities necessary for the paraprofessional working with the chemically dependent.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Apply the counseling process to the needs of chemically dependent clients. (I-V)
2. Explain the major models of treatment utilized in chemical dependency. (I)
3. Describe several diagnostic models and initial assessment methods. (II)
4. Develop a service plan based on client profiles. (III)
5. Assess the strengths and limitations of various treatment modalities when applied to client profiles. (IV)
6. Describe various methods for the assessment of progress made by clients. (V)
