1. Apply Reading Specialist skills and strategies in supervised field experience in a K-8 setting. (I)
2. Communicate effectively with general education K-8 teachers and school personnel. (I) 3. Demonstrate leadership skills related to working collaboratively with staff, teachers, and administration. (I-IV) 4. Administer various informal reading assessments to assess K-8 students? reading behaviors. (II) 5. Analyze and interpret the results to determine K-8 students? reading levels, strengths, and weaknesses in print and meaning processing. (III) 6. Design a program based on the K-8 students? identified reading levels, strengths, and weaknesses in print and meaning processing. (III) 7. Write a formal diagnostic report that includes pre-assessment results and a plan for remediation. (III) 8. Implement a plan for remediation/enrichment with the K-8 students. (IV) 9. Analyze and interpret post-assessment results. (IV) 10. Write a formal final report for K-8 students that includes post-assessment results, results of the remediation/enrichment plan, and recommendations for continued remediation. (IV) | |||
