Description: Laboratory experience in support of CHM220



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Explain and follow standard laboratory safety and chemical disposal practices.
2. Demonstrate the correct use of common analytical equipment.
3. Use appropriate statistical calculations for data analysis.
4. Perform analyses using techniques of precipitation, filtration and titration.
5. Determine the activity of an analyte ion using a pH or other ion specific electrode.
6. Analyze mixtures using a spectrophotometer.
7. For each of the techniques studied, list common instrumental, operative and methodic errors, and describe their remediation.
8. Submit appropriate written laboratory reports.
