Description: Advanced principles and concepts for the plumbing trade related to water supply piping installation, testing, and sizing. Application of advanced trade calculations and fundamentals of backflow prevention and types of venting.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Apply proper techniques associated with complete water supply systems including common materials. (I)
2. Identify common code requirements for water supply systems. (I)
3. Review common trade calculations used on the job including weights, measures, area, volume, temperature, pressure, and force. (II)
4. Demonstrate use and maintenance of six simple trade machines. (II)
5. Demonstrate proper techniques for sizing water supply systems and identify factors that reduce efficiency of water supply piping. (III)
6. Identify different types of backflow prevention devices including their use, function, and proper installation. (IV)
7. Review of various types of vents in a Drain, Waste, and Vent (DWV) system and their function. (V)
8. Practice design and installation techniques. (V)
