Description: Manipulate permanent and temporary restorative materials, impression material, dental waxes, cements, periodontal dressings, bases and liners. Fabricate mouth protectors, study models, and custom impression trays. Laboratory proficiency in margination of permanent restorative materials.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Operate and maintain dental lab equipment, and handle dental materials using standard safety and infection control procedures. (I)
2. Finish, polish and maintain amalgam and composite restorations. (II)
3. Manipulate cements, bases and liners. (III)
4. Obtain impressions of the dentition using various impression materials. (IV, V)
5. Fabricate study models using gypsum products. (V, VI)
6. Manipulate temporary restorative materials. (VII)
7. Fabricate mouth protectors and whitening trays. (VIII)
8. Manipulate and place a rubber dam. (II)
