Description: Fundamental principles of drawing. Emphasis on composition and facility in objective and expressive representation, using variety of drawing media



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Analyze historical examples of drawing. (I)
2. Define form within a two-dimensional format by employing the use of line, value, texture, and compositional theory. (II, III, IV, V)
3. Describe the elements of composition, and explain how forms are balanced and unified within the picture plane. (V)
4. Explain the concepts of proportion, scale, and perspective. (VI)
5. Use a variety of media. (VII)
