Description: Reinforcement and extended study of basic two-dimensional computer aided drafting (CAD) skills for Architecture, Interior Design, and related professions using AutoCAD software. Includes sending/receiving drawing files on web; templates/set-ups; dimension/text formats; sheet management; external referencing, design center, basic/extended drawing and editing commands, and plotting.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Create/save/implement templates as part of drawing set-up. (I, II)
2. Apply basic two-dimensional formatting, drawing, editing, dimensioning, plotting commands typical to the industry. (III, IV)
3. Apply advanced two-dimensional drawing, editing, dimensioning, commands typical to the industry. (III)
4. Insert and apply appropriate styles, layers, blocks from design center. (I, III)
5. Manage drawing files, send and download files from web. (V)
6. Create and apply external references. (III)
7. Create sheet sets. (II,III)
8. Plot drawings in Paper Space - to printer, file, and Web. (IV)
9. Complete assigned drawings successfully. (I-V)
10. Demonstrate professional work habits including time management, meeting deadlines, attention to detail, correcting red-lined drawings. (I-V)
