Description: Introduction to the major evidence-based therapeutic models and interventions in social and behavioral sciences. Defines the key concepts, techniques and procedures of each theoretical model.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Compare and contrast the tenets of the major therapeutic models used in the social and behavioral sciences. (I, II)
2. Differentiate between the roles of the caregiver and other helping professionals in each model. (I, II)
3. Identify the client`s role in each model. (I, II)
4. Differentiate between the therapeutic techniques of each model. (I, II)
5. Identify the theory that best fits one`s personal philosophy of practice. (I, II )
MCCCD Official Course Competencies must be coordinated with the content outline so that each major point in the outline serves one or more competencies.
