Description: This course is designed to assist students in the preparation and presentation of an original professional portfolio. Students will design, produce, and present artistic sketches and illustrations of fashion figures wearing designs, flats for garment designs, and fabric swatches/samples selected for designs. Including but not limited to using computer-assisted design software, presentation boards, and other required components in the field of portfolio development.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Identify and select market focus for original production of a portfolio. (I)
2. Research and create a presentation board. (II)
3. Select specific content materials and organize portfolio presentation. (III)
4. Prepare color and fabric story pages for collection designs. (IV, VII)
5. Sketch and illustrate fashion figures wearing designs. (V)
6. Use appropriate sketching techniques to draw flats for designs. (VI)
7. Assemble and produce a professional portfolio. (VII)
8. Present original professional portfolio. (VIII)
