Description: Introduction to fuel systems used in Caterpillar engines. Covers fuel selection, calibrations, and nozzle testing procedures, governor operation, and hydraulic fuel ratio controls. Includes 1.1 and 1.2 MUI and HEUI, EUI, Nippondenso, and Zexel fuel systems.

1. Explain basic principles of fluids, and describe the process of selecting fuel. (I)
2. Explain and demonstrate the processes of fuel calibration and nozzle testing. (II)
3. Explain the function of governors in a fuel system. (III)
4. Explain the operation of the 1.1 and 1.2 Liter Mechanical Unit Injection fuel system. (IV)
5. Explain the operation of the 1.1 and 1.2 Liter HEUI fuel system. (V)
6. Explain the operation of the EUI fuel system. (VI)
7. Explain the operation of 3054 and 3056 fuel systems as well as Nippondenso and Zexel fuel systems. (VII)
