Description: Academically challenging course where students study, practice and apply the fundamentals of the leadership, officer skills, Army values and ethics, personal development and tactics at the small-unit level. Focuses on cross-cultural competencies as they relate to Army doctrine and how they apply in a combatant commander`s engagement strategies. Stresses Army values, teamwork and warrior ethos and their relationship to the law of land warfare and philosophy of military service. Covers the ability to lead and follow through team building exercises in small units up to squad level. Requires the student to demonstrate writing skills and present information briefings as preparation for development in becoming a successful future officer. Also includes physical training assessment, tactical training, as well as lecture-based instruction.
