Description: Application of specialized phlebotomy techniques in a clinical laboratory setting or health-care environment.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Use specialized phlebotomy equipment. (I,III)
2. Perform proper venipuncture on patients who are difficult to draw. (II-IV)
3. Apply specialized techniques in obtaining newborn specimens. (II-IV)
4. Utilize proper specimen handling on unusual or inadequate samples. (V)
5. Apply proper procedures in bleeding time testing and blood culture procurement. (III,VI)
