Description: This college and career readiness course is designed to prepare students for the rigors and expectations of post-secondary education. Students will learn essential professional skills required for success in the workplace, as well as learn vital academic skills required for success in the classroom. Students will be introduced to educational pathways for career exploration, learn how to write a professional resume, cover letter, conduct mock interviews, and gain a better understanding of post-secondary funding options.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Demonstrate professional skills by learning and working in a diverse academic environment. (I)
2. Demonstrate effective time management strategies to meet course deadlines. (I)
3. Apply effective study habits for academic success in the classroom. (I)
4. Apply effective memory strategies in preparation for taking an exam. (I)
5. Identify educational pathways for Emergency Medical Technicians. (II)
6. Gain an understanding of funding options available for post-secondary settings. (II)
7. Create a resume and cover letter for an entry level Emergency Medical Technician position. (III)
