Cosmetology Advanced Clinic and Certification Prep II

Description: Students enrolled in this course will apply knowledge of what has been learned in hair styling, chemical services and hair cutting to the public in the clinic. Students will revisit safety and sanitation and Arizona State Board of Cosmetology rules and regulations. State board boot camp will be completed in this class. Fundamental nail technology course for cosmetology students who are looking to obtain a cosmetology license. State board prep for certification.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Demonstrate proper infection control procedures and first aid. (I)
2. Demonstrate and explain advanced chemical texture services and tools. (II)
3. Demonstrate proper client consultation during design decisions and considerations. (III)
4. Identify client needs and describe tools and products needed to achieve desired service. (III)
5. Demonstrate and explain understanding of learned skills through rubric, written, and practical assessment. (IV)
6. Demonstrate Arizona State Board of Cosmetology expectations and procedures. (V)
7. Apply and demonstrate learned concepts in practical applications to successfully pass final written exam with 80% or better. (V)
8. Apply and describe learned concepts in theory to successfully pass final written exam with 80% or better. (V)
9. Identify and apply tools and resources needed to gain employment in the beauty industry. (VI)
