Description: The Certificate of Competency (CCT) in Phlebotomy Practicum provides an opportunity for students to apply fundamental Phlebotomy and specimen processing skills in a clinical laboratory or healthcare environment, learn advanced procedures in a real-work setting, and connect students to employment opportunities.

1. Apply strategies in preparing for a Certified Pharmacy Technician examination. (PLC122)
2. Demonstrate an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the pharmacy technician in retail, hospital, and institutional settings. (PLC122)
3. Perform mathematical calculations for dosage determinations and solution preparations. (PLC122)
4. Demonstrate an understanding of legal, regulatory, professional, and ethical standards applicable to the role of pharmacy technicians. (PLC122)
5. Demonstrate proficiency with brand and generic drug names, appearance, manufacturer, dosage forms(s), and route of administration for at least the top 200 drugs. (PLC122)
6. Assess a prescription for completeness, accuracy, and authenticity to ensure patient safety. (PLC122)
7. Identify proper customer service procedures related to professional communication, appearance, and knowledge of allowed duties when working under a licensed pharmacist in a variety of settings. (PLC122)
