Description: The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Fashion Design, Level II program provides students with skills necessary to illustrate fashions, design patterns, and construct apparel. Emphasis is placed on the development of pattern making skills and grading patterns to change sizes. Student completing this certificate will enter the fashion industry at entry-level positions. An Associate in Applied Sciences (AAS) degree is also available for this program.

Program Competencies
1. Alter patterns to fit individual figures and make necessary adjustments during the construction process. (TEC124)
2. Apply construction techniques (seams and seam finishes, darts, facings, collars, set-in-sleeves, machine and bound buttonholes, hems, zippers, linings, matching plaids and stripes) correctly on samples and garments. (TEC124)
3. Use advanced media techniques and a variety of media to render fabrics and figures; develop a portfolio for original designs. (TEC135)
4. Sketch technical line drawings and flats to accompany garments on figures. (TEC135)
5. Develop portfolio illustrations with flats and fabric swatches, using a variety of media of student`s choice. (TEC135)
6. Drape, mark, and true an original design in a fashion fabric. (TEC226)
7. Use advanced flat pattern techniques to produce patterns and construct original designs. (TEC230)
