Description: The Certificate of Completion in Law Enforcement prepares students for careers in state, local, and federal police departments and investigative agencies. It allows students interested in policing as a career to focus on this area of study while they pursue an AAS degree in Administration of Justice Studies.

4. Define the concepts of deviance, social control, and criminality and describe the impact of crime on society. (AJS225)
5. Identify and describe the major biological, sociological, and psychological theories of criminality. (AJS225)
6. Identify and describe the procedures and methods of operations practiced by public police and explain the discretionary powers of the working police officer. (AJS230)
