Description: The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Fashion Illustration includes an advanced study of proportion and techniques used in drawing fashion figures and flats. A variety of media is used to illustrate various fabrics, textures, and patterns. A professional fashion illustration portfolio is completed.

Program Competencies
1. Draw the human figure using different techniques and a variety of drawing media. (ART116)
2. Create original items of apparel and swatch with appropriate textiles using principles and elements of design. (TEC125)
3. Draw fashion figures and sketch garments on figures using drawing pencil, charcoal, ink wash, watercolor, pastels, felt tip/marker pens, colored pencils, and/or acrylics to experiment with different techniques used in fashion illustration. (TEC134)
4. Develop portfolio illustrations with flats and fabric swatches, using a variety of media. (TEC135)
5. Complete a final rendering using course techniques including silhouette, exaggeration, and prominent media style. (TEC136)
6. Render intricate fabrics such as lace, chiffon, sequins, border prints, gauze, and eyelet. (TEC136)
7. Create and illustrate fashion designs using computer software and the principles and elements of design. (TEC221)
8. Describe properties, use, and care of major textile fibers, and identify fabrics by their common names. (TEC222)
9. Design, produce, and present a professional portfolio. (TEC236)
