Description: The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Landscape Aide program emphasizes the basic skills of Plant Science and Plant Identification, incorporating these skills into the practical study of Landscape Design and Construction. The program is designed to prepare students to become employed as technicians, salespeople and supervisors in nurseries or landscape design/build firms. Students may continue their studies with the Landscape Specialist CCL. In addition, the program prepares students for jobs with government agencies or other agencies involved with the technical phases of the Landscape Horticulture industry.

2. Draw landscape designs using professional landscape drafting techniques including planting plans and sprinkler systems for residential and commercial structures. (AGL189)
3. Classify agricultural plants according to use, growth habits and economic importance in determining the factors influencing plant behavior and accepted cultural practices. (AGS164)
4. Identify common landscape plants by botanical and common name and know how they are used in the landscape. (AGS183)
5. Identify the fundamentals of general chemistry including essential concepts and problem solving techniques for the basic principles of measurement, chemical bonding, structure and reactions, nomenclature, and the chemistry of acids and bases. (CHM130)
