Description: The Associate in Applied Science in Early Childhood Education with Emphasis on Special Developmental Needs curriculum is intended to prepare students for employment at the paraprofessional level working with special needs children in inclusive early care and education programs. In addition to the required courses and restricted electives in the certificate programs, the Associate of Applied Science degree provides an opportunity to broaden the student`s background through general education courses from a variety of fields including writing, reading, and communication.
