Description: Use of the sewing machine for other than construction of garments or household items. Emphasis on decorative uses of the sewing machine on items made or purchased by the user

1. Explain the function of a variety of sewing machine accessories. (I)
2. Use a variety of presser feet, needles, and attachments. (I)
3. Select appropriate designs and techniques for transfer by machine to garments and samples. (II)
4. Construct a garment and apply a trim. (III)
5. Design and construct a patchwork pattern on a sample or garment. (III)
6. Appliqu? a design on a sample. (III)
7. Embroider a design on a sample. (III)
8. Program decorative stitches on a computerized sewing machine. (III)
9. Construct corded and regular buttonholes. (III)
10. Practice smocking techniques on a sample. (III)
