Description: Second module of the fourth level of English as a Second Language (ESL). Continued emphasis on sentence structure and paragraph building. Extensive grammar study and writing practice.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Write simple, compound, and complex sentences correctly. (I)
2. Write two paragraphs in designated mode of development that use a topic sentence effectively, and that exhibit unity and coherence. (II)
3. Punctuate sentences properly and spell words correctly. (III)
4. Use verb tenses, moods, and voice correctly. (IV)
5. Use new vocabulary and idioms effectively. (V)
