Description: Theory and intensive practice of ballet at the advanced intermediate level. Development of movement quality and performance skills.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Demonstrate correct placement and alignment for ballet at the advanced intermediate level. (I, II, III)
2. Use basic locomotor and axial movements at the barre, in center, and across the floor at the advanced intermediate level. (I, II, III, IV)
3. Utilize correct components of ballet technique, theories, and styles at the advanced intermediate level. (I, II, III, IV, V)
4. Utilize the theory of the body`s relationship to gravity and the center of gravity used in ballet at the advanced intermediate level. (I, II, III, IV, V)
5. Practice the basic elements of dance: space, time and energy at the advanced intermediate level. (IV)
6. Apply technical skills, theories, and style in performance at the advanced intermediate level. (V)
