Description: Emphasis on musical production decisions. Front-of-house and monitor console placement, loudspeaker arrangements, power considerations, program material and sound pressure levels. Includes setting up of sound system and mixing live performances with various styles of music. In addition to mixing at alternate locations.

1. Demonstrate proper usage and control of digital mixing consoles and related technologies. (I)
2. Explain concepts of intermediate acoustics and psychoacoustics related to live sound production. (II)
3. Demonstrate applications of current loudspeaker, monitor, and amplifier technologies. (III)
4. Demonstrate applications of current signal processing equipment. (IV)
5. Demonstrate applications of current microphone technologies. (V)
6. Display methods of troubleshooting and basic repair of live sound reinforcement technologies. (VI)
7. Make effective decisions in a live production environment. (VII)
