Description: Compile, reflect on, and select prior learning experiences and artifacts. Design, produce, and publish an online portfolio that documents prior learning. Includes techniques for presenting the electronic portfolio for evaluation



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Identify the purpose and uses of the electronic portfolio. (I)
2. Develop personal goals and objectives, and relate them to an educational and/or career plan to provide focus for the portfolio. (I)
3. Select a sampling of one`s own work that best represents quality and breadth of knowledge and skills. (II)
4. Revise, edit, and organize works for inclusion in portfolio. (III)
5. Write an analysis that verifies and provides evidence of learning by explaining how and what parts of prior learning are related to academic and vocational goals. (III)
6. Develop a portfolio of materials and documentation of prior learning. (IV)
7. Convert the materials and documentation of prior learning to an online-format. (V)
8. Publish the portfolio on the World Wide Web. (V)
9. Enumerate the general qualifications and level of expertise required for the various computer related job opportunities currently available (III)
10. Describe the potential ethical conflicts specific to the information systms field (IV)
11. Describe work standards typical to computer related positions (IV)
12. Describe standards of conduct related to privacy issues in information systems positions (IV)
13. Describe standards of conduct related to dealing with the public in a service capacity (IV)
