Description: Proportions and techniques used in drawing fashion figures and clothing. Introduction of media and illustrative styles for portfolio design, trade sketches, and fashion advertisements.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Draw fashion figures in proportion from a grid system, stick figures, illustrations, and photos. (I)
2. Render fashion heads. (II)
3. Render arms, hands, legs, and feet. (III)
4. Sketch garments on figures. (IV)
5. Render garment construction and style details. (V)
6. Use drawing pencil, colored pencils, felt tip pens/markers, charcoal, watercolor, ink wash, pastels, and acrylics to experiment with different media and techniques used in fashion illustration. (VI)
7. Explain how to compile a swipe file, use photographs and illustrations, make corrections, and work from a layout. (VII)
