| Changes to Majors on Common Course Matrix : | ASU and UA faculty ATF Members reported that their degrees have disappeared from the portal page/and or matrix with ?no rhyme or reason as to why.? ASU's degrees (BA in Jewish Studies and BA in Religious Studies) and UA's degrees (BA in East Asian Studies and BA in Middle Eastern Studies) need to be added back in. The facilitator added them back in for the universities to approve. Members would like to send a message to AZ Transfer that this is happening and to please fix this so that it won?t happen again. |
| Changes to Common Course Matrices : |
Request to change what publishes in the Major Guides to students:
1. If a community college does not offer a particular course that appears on the Matrix, then that row should not show in the Major Guides, rather than telling the students the course is not offered at this college. 2. Members unanimously agreed that Eastern Religions is not a required course for the degrees and this column needs to be moved down to the electives section so that students aren't told to take this course in the Major Guides. World Religions could be a possibility as it is a shared common course for ASU and NAU's shared major (possibly not for UA's major though). 3. Members requested that the columns in the electives section of the Common Course Matrix display in the major guides since they will now have no columns in the common course section. They would like students to see all of their course options in the Major Guides. Columns to add can be found in the CEG on the Maricopa REL page as elective options for students to see. Only list courses that receive a REL Dept. Elective or higher from the universities. The courses that receive general elective or less should not be listed in the Major Guide display. (Of course this would only be for the Maricopa Major Guides - others would be different). |

| Issues Raised : | The members unanimously called for a more streamlined agenda that prioritizes and facilitates the decisions about courses that will have the most impact on students. Group requested the agenda be flipped so that the curricular discussion is held first and the AZ Transfer portion is second. Request for the PowerPoint to be more refined and shorter - to only cover important changes in transfer next year. |
