Changes to Common Courses : None
Changes to Exam Matrix : Universities noted a discrepancy between what is accepted in their catalogs and what is in the EEG. Universities to send catalog links to AZTransfer facilitator to update the matrices. CCs agree to match the universities.
AGEC Information : Discussion regarding how NAU and Honors students at ASU & UA can meet the English Composition requirement for the AGEC at the CC if they transfer from a University to a CC before returning to the University. Proposed language to be presented to the General Education ATF for approval. See Record of Votes below.
Record of the Votes : English Composition Requirement for the AGC. Currently students at the universities can meet the Composition requirement for the Bachelor's degree with 3-4 credits if they take the honors Composition at ASU and UA or NAU's (4) credit course. This has created problems for awarding the AGEC at the CCs when a student starts at a University, transfers to a CC and needs the AGEc to return to the university. A motion to draft a proposal to present to the General Education ATF was made, seconded, and approved. The final wording of the proposal is ?For the purpose of meeting the 6-credit AGEC English Composition requirement, a student will complete English Composition 1 and 2, with the exception of U of A?s ENGL 109, NAU?s ENG 105, and ASU?s ENG 105. These students may fulfill the credit requirement with an intensive writing/critical inquiry course appropriate for the given community college.? A motion to accepted the proposal as stated above was seconded and passed with 1 Abstention, 0 Opposed, 14 In Favor.
Issues Raised : Proposed discussion via listserve and to be discussed in the 2019 meeting:
a) Using H.S. GPA as a factor in placing students in English courses. (Erin Whittig)
b) Dual Enrollment and faculty certification and oversight of H.S. courses used for Dual Enrollment.
Curriculum Planning : ASU & UA revising their General Education.
CEG changes : NPC needs updates. See attached Institutional Updates document.
