Issues Raised : *There was a heated discussion among the Sociology ATF members about awarding college credit to CIE. The ATF would like to reject CIE as an instrument of measuring sociological knowledge.

ATF requests that universities revisit approval of CIE credit.
? Motion to direct universities to revisit their decision to approve
o Currently approved for 6 units of credit ? currently equivalent to SOC 101 and DEC (3 credits)
? 1 abstention, all others in favor

Motion: It is the position of the Sociology ATF that the CIE in Sociology does not meet a standard that is sufficient for students to receive Sociology credit.

Curriculum Planning : ATF requests that universities begin the process of accepting SOC 101 to fulfill diversity requirements.
