| Changes to Common Course Matrices : | We still have an issue with the UA courses. They no longer use ART 101 (Drawing), ART 102 (2D Design) and ART 104 (3D Design) for their majors, and have replaced those with ART 100A & 100J, ART 100E & 100G, and ART 100D & 100E respectively. Since the Drawing course is a SUN course, that change cannot happen yet, but the others should change now. These were all approved in 2010. |

Studio Art - AP
- 2D, 3D and Drawing: ASU will only accept with a score of 4 or 5. UA and NAU currently accept a score of 3 but will review and send email to listserv with results. Community colleges will also review and will likely follow the consensus of the universities. ASU will check on whether ART 194ST should be included in the 2D and 3D exams. AWC indicated that what they currently have in the matrix is wrong and will correct that. UA needs to check on why ART 100J is not also included in Drawing, why ART 100G isn't also included in 2D, and why ART 100D is not also included. EAC will check on why it says Portfolio evaluation and not the appropriate courses. Art History - AP - For the score of 3, UA and Pima are the only ones awarding 6 credits. The UA will review and determine if they will agree to go to 3 credits, and will share the results with the list via email. Pima will follow UA's lead. The community colleges with NA in the matrix will recommend to their school that they add the appropriate courses (those matching the CCM). Visual Arts - IB - The schools want to review the IB exam before making a determination. Art of the Western World - DSST - Only ASU, UA, AWC and Cochise offer credit for this exam. All schools agreed that is acceptable, so no changes are recommended. |
