Issues Raised : 1. There is strong interest in the establishment of a new Environmental Sciences ATF, separate from the Biology ATF. The members agreed with Dr. Huber that a subcommittee of the Biology ATF, headed by Dr. Phil Pepe of Phoenix College should be established to study the pros and cons and make recommendations regarding the establishment of a new Environmental Science ATF.
2. The ATF members recommended unanimously that the mid-range International Baccalaureate (IB) score of 4 be accepted as non-major credit rather than as credit for one of the courses in Biology designed for majors.
Curriculum Planning : Arizona Western College has developed a new course in Ornithology and requested the assignment of a course number from the ATF. It was decided that BIO 256 would be the number used by AWC for this course.
