English majors learn critical reading and writing skills in disciplines such as literature, technical writing, creative writing, rhetoric, or as preparation for teaching. Students study classical and modern literature, conduct and use literary research, and to write clearly and effectively. English majors obtain the communication skills that are crucial to any workplace. An English degree is also preparation for law school. |
