Economics majors study how societies, governments, businesses, and individuals solve problems arising from the scarcity of resources. Students in economics gain the analytic and critical thinking skills needed to address public issues such as inflation, unemployment, budget deficits, government regulation, international trade and development, and environmental pollution. These skills can be applied in a variety of fields including banking, agriculture, international trade, natural resources, and many more.
